About GIA

The Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) was founded in 1962 as an association of independent professional architects with the aim of fostering friendship amongst members, catering for their welfare, and establishing mutual support and cooperation amongst them.

From a modest beginning, the Institute has experienced phenomenal growth in its membership, activities, stature, and influence both at national and international levels. Today, we represent over 12,000 architects across Ghana and continue to be the leading voice in architectural practice and education.
